10 Top Books on Weight Training

Saturday April 21, 2007

I admit this is a personal choice -- but so are many of the books that we choose to add to our lists of favorites. Even so, I used certain criteria for selecting this list from the hundreds of books about weight training, bodybuilding and personal training that crowd the market. A few others went close and would be included in an expanded list. Essentials of Weightlifting and Strength Training by Mohamed F. El-Hewie was one of them. Schuler, McRobert and Villepigue and Rivera would also have got a start.

I looked for authoritative authors with credentials and respect among peers and students. I wanted something that was reasonably well designed and presented for information transfer. Writing skill was a part of that. I sought books that, in total, filled a variety of reader requirements and niches and did not pander to one sector of the weight training community. And for certain books, price was also a consideration.

Here's the list: 10 Top Picks - Weight Training and Bodybuilding Books. Let me know what you think or tell me your own list if you have one.
