You probably know about crunches, fitballs, rollouts, hanging leg raises and other abdominal workouts, but the "core" is much more than that. Back, side and abdominal muscles constitute the core, and you can get a strong core with traditional strength training using compound exercises without too much attention to isolation exercises targeting single muscle groups.
