Supersets are consecutive sets of exercises designed to work opposing muscles, or at least different muscles within a large body part region.
Opposing muscle exercises could include biceps and triceps at the front and back of the arms, or quadriceps and hamstrings at the front and back of the legs.
The exercises are usually done with minimum rest between sets.
Another definition in popular use defines supersets as consecutive sets targeting different muscles (but not necessarily opposing muscles) or different exercises targeting the same muscles.
The main points to focus on are that they are consecutive sets of different exercises and they target a discreet body region such as the legs, arms, chest, back, or abs.
